Serie A – Napoli-Atalanta
We are heading to the San Paolo where Napoli will face Atalanta in one of the derbies of the 4th week of the Serie A. Here are our thoughts about this fixture in the city of Naples.
You can clearly see Napoli are more enthusiastic and better since the arrival of the manager Gennaro Gattuso. At the end of the previous campaign Gattuso led the team to a triumph in the Coppa Italia and now the Azzurri are hungry for even better performance. Their main goal remains reaching the Top 4 and another qualification for the Champions League.
Napoli had some bad news lately, though. Because they refused to travel to Turin to face Juventus they were awarded a 0-3 loss and one point was taken from their record. Because of this Napoli are now 8th in the standings with 5 points – four points behind the leaders Atalanta and Milan.
Speaking of Atalanta we can’t deny it – they continue to be very impressive under Gian Piero Gasperini. La Dea are perfect from the beginning of the new season with three wins in three matches played. They have scored 13 goals so far which is more than any other team in the league at the moment.
Before the break Atalanta reached their third win for the season. Gasperini’s boys hosted Cagliari at the Gewiss Stadium and scored five goals for a 5-2 win. Once again Atalanta showed their firepower and proved how good they are in scoring a lot of goals. Maybe you remember that they ended the 2019/20 season with scoring almost 100 goals.
That’s what we can tell you about the Serie A game between Napoli and Atalanta at the San Paolo. Can the visitors keep the first place in the standings? This is surely what they will try to do.
