Serie A – Lazio-Napoli

Lazio welcomes Napoli in the most interesting game of the first round of the Italian Serie A. This match is going to be played on Saturday night at the Stadio Olimpico in the city of Rome.

These are two of the strongest teams in the Serie A at this moment. Last season Lazio finished 5th in the Calcio and missed a qualification for the Champions League, being on par with the 4th Inter, but having worse stats in the direct matches. Napoli on the other hand finished 2nd, being for a long time Juventus’ only competitor for the title. But at the end of the season Napoli gave up and Juve won the gold medals with an advantage of 4 points.

During the summer Lazio made some interesting moves on the transfer market. The club acquired the services of the Argentine winger Joaquin Correa from Sevilla, Sassuolo’s centre back Francesco Acerbi, Salzburg’s midfielder Valon Berisha and Betis’ left back Riza Durmisi.

It still remains to be seen if Lazio are going to keep their star midfielder Sergei Milinkovic-Savic. The Serbian midfielder is wanted by a lot of clubs and this is not a secret. Lazio wants to keep him, but let’s see. If they lose him, it’s going to be a huge blow for the club’s ambitions.

Napoli are starting a new life after Maurizio Sarri’s move to Chelsea. He was replaced by the legendary Carlo Ancelotti, who returns to the Serie A after a long absence. Ancelotti promised that Napoli are going to fight for the title again, although it’s clear that Juventus are the big favourite here.

During the summer transfer window Napoli paid 30 millions euro to Real Betis for the midfielder Fabian Ruiz, while Simone Verdi was bought from Bologna. Napoli also bought Lille’s right back Kevin Malcuit.

This is our look at the Serie A derby between Lazio and Napoli in the Italian capital. We wish you good luck!
