La Liga – Real Madrid-Valencia
Real Madrid welcomes Valencia at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano in the big derby of the 29th round of Spanish La Liga. Here we are going to share with you our observations about this fixture.
Real Madrid hosted Eibar in their first game after the COVID-19 pandemic and secured a convincing 3-1 win. Eden Hazard returned on the pitch with an assist, while Toni Kroos, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo scored for Los Blancos. We expected to see Marco Asensio playing for a first time this season as well, but Asensio remained on the bench.
With this win Real Madrid kept their distance behind the leader Barcelona just two points. As it looks right now it’s going to be a really tight fight between Barca and Madrid for the championship crown. These two teams will give their all to take the title.
Lucas Vasquez, Nacho, Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz remain sidelined for Real Madrid. It’d be curious to see if Zinedine Zidane is going to do some rotations on Thursday. The French tactician used his best XI against Eibar, while Mendy, Bale, Eder, Vinicius and Valverde entered the pitch as subs.
Valencia had a heartbreak in their first match since the quarantine. Los Che were very close to winning the local derby with Levante at the Mestalla, but they conceded an equalising goal in the 98th minute. Before this Rodrigo opened the score for Albert Celades’ team.
Celades used Rodrigo and Maxi Gomez in attack against Levante, while Goncalo Guedes and Carlos Soler operated at the wings. Ferran Torres and Kevin Gameiro got introduced after the break.
Valencia has some problems in defense before this match. Gabriel Paulista and Ezequiel Garay are missing the game with injuries. Cristiano Piccini is sidelined as well.
We expect to see some goals in this derby between Real Madrid and Valencia. Both teams know how to hurt the opponent in attack. Let’s see.
