Premier League – Manchester City-AFC Bournemouth
Manchester City welcomes AFC Bournemouth at the Etihad in a fixture from the 36th round of the Premier League.
In their previous match Man City stopped their negative run of three consecutve losses away from home. Pep Guardiola’s team paid a visit to Brighton & Hove Albion and did a terrific job winning with 5-0. Raheem Sterling banged a hattrick for City, while Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva also scored for the former champions.
It seems that Guardiola is trying his best to prepare his team for the Champions League. City lost the title race in the Premier League, but they still have a chance to triumph in Europe and win the FA Cup as well. That’s why the Catalan manager is trying to keep his stars in shape as much as possible in these games in the Premier League.
Most likely Guardiola will rotate his line-up again for this next match. Some guys like Otamendi, David Silva, Zinchenko, Foden and Stones could start against the Cherries on Wednesday. Fernandinho is also an option to be among the starting eleven.
AFC Bournemouth are now even closer to a relegation to the Championship. The Cherries are 18th in the standings with 28 points and they are 6 points behind the 17th Watford. That’s not something which gives them much optimism before the final few rounds of the competition.
In their last match Bournemouth made their 7th draw for the season. Eddie Howe’s boys hosted Tottenham Hotspur at the Vitality Road and the match ended without any goals scored – 0-0.
Manchester City scored 10 goals in their last two matches in the Premier League. We don’t have any doubts that the Cityzens will shine again versus Bournemouth on Wednesday, too. They are scoring a lot lately and Bournemouth are not a team to give them much trouble.
