Serie A – Milan-Inter

The bid derby of Milan between Milan and Inter – it’s one of the greatest games in football. It’s time for another Derby della Madonnina, because these two fierce rivals face each other at the Stadio San Siro on Saturday.

Inter are entering this game with the confidence of being a leader in the Serie A. The Nerazzurri are at the top of the standings with 9 points won so far, being two points ahead of Bologna and Juventus. So far they have a perfect record in the league – three wins from three games played. It looks like the new manager Antonio Conte is doing a very good job since his arrival at the club.

In their last league game Inter hosted Udinese and enjoyed a difficult 1-0 win at the San Siro. Stefano Sensi became the hero for his team with a winning goal just one minute before the halftime break.

But during the week Inter suffered their first dissapointment for the season. The Nerazzurri hosted Slavia Praha in their first Champions League game, but only won a point after a 1-1 draw at the San Siro. Inter were actually pretty close to losing this match, but the substitute Nicolo Barella saved them with an equalising goal in the 92th minute.

Milan are not participating in the European competitions, so the Rossoneri will have the privilege to face their city rivals as rested as possible. Right now Milan are 7th in the Serie A standings with 6 points won, but a win on Saturday would level them up with the leader.

After a loss in the first round of the league, Milan won their next two games in the league. Last week Marco Giampaolo’s boys had a visit to Hellas Verona, which they won with a goal from Krzysztof Piatek from a penalty kick. This was Piatek’s first goal for the season.

We always expect good football when Milan and Inter meet in the Serie A. Can Inter keep the top for another week? Or Milan will record a third consecutive win in the league?
