Serie A – Juventus – Napoli

The champion Juventus hosts one of its main rivals for the title Napoli in the big derby of the second round in the Italian Serie A. It’s going to be really interesting at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday.

Juventus’ new manager Maurizio Sarri debuted with a win for the champions. Juve visited Parma at the start of the Serie A campaign and achieved a difficult 1-0 win at the Stadio Ennio Tardini. The only goal in the game was scored after 21 minutes of playing when Giorgio Chiellini put the ball in the net after an assist from Alex Sandro.

One of the summer signings Adrien Rabiot debuted for Juve in an official match, but the Dutch wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt remained on the bench. Instead of him, Sarri preferred to pick Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci. Alongside Rabiot, Juan Cuadrado and Filippo Bernadeschi also entered the pitch after the halftime break.

Napoli also started the new season with a win. Carlo Ancelotti’s boys took part in a pure thriller against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. The Azzurri had to make a great effort to win, but at the end they did it, winning the game with 4-3.

Lorenzo Insigne scored a brace in La Viola’s net, while Dries Mertens and Jose Callejon also scored for the visitors. Eric Pulgar, Nikola Milenkovic and Kevin-Prince Boateng scored for Fiorentina, but at the end Napoli scored one more than their opponents. It was a great game, though.

Against Napoli Juventus will try to make a statement. The champions will want to show everybody that they are once again the number one contender for the Scudetto. And beating your main rival for the title, or at least – one of the main rivals, is a pretty good way to show the world your power.
