Italy Seria A – Lazio-Chievo
Lazio welcomes Chievo in a match from the 21th round of the Italian Serie A.
Lazio are currently 4th in the Serie A standings, having one point advantage in front of Roma. Their main goal this season is a finish in the Top 4 and a qualification for the Champions League and so far they are moving pretty well. They are unbeaten in four consecutive games. For the last time Lazio suffered a defeat against Torino at home, which was very surprising to see.
The manager Simone Inzaghi and his players know more than well that the fight for a Top 4 finish is going to be very hard. Inter, Lazio and Roma are fighting for two places in the Top 4, so one of them will will be left out of the first four. That’s why Lazio must keep winning matches like this, especially at home at the Stadio Olimpico.
As for Chievo, the Flying Donkeys are in a good position at the moment. They are currently 13th in the Serie A, having won 22 points. Their full record is 5 wins, 7 draws and 8 defeats. They have won just two points in their last five matches, which tells us that they are far away from their best form at the moment.
In their last game Chievo made a 1-1 draw with Udinese, which stopped their negative run of three consecutive defeats in the league.
Lazio can’t use the suspended Stefan Radu for this game, while Felipe Caicedo is injured.
As for Chievo, the Flying Donkeys could be without Dario Dainelli, Alessandro Gamberini and Riccardo Meggiorini. They are all having problems with injuries, so it’s still not clear if they are going to be used.
Lazio are the favourites here, especially at the Olimpico. Let’s see if Chievo would be able to trouble them.
