Euro 2020 – England-Denmark
England faces Denmark at the Wembley in the second 1/2-finals game from Euro 2020. One of these two teams will make the last step towards the final. Let’s preview.
England made a huge statement during the 1/4-finals when they rocked Ukraine with 4-0 at the Olimpico in Rome. The Three Lions played their best game since the beginning of the competition and proved their reputation as major contender. The team’s captain Harry Kane scored twice for the win while Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson scored as well. Luke Shaw made a very good game, too, providing two assists for the win.
England are seeking their first major trophy since 1966 and now they feel how close they are to this goal. The manager Gareth Southgate did some terrific work with the team since his appointment at the job. Against Ukraine, England showed us that they can play an exciting free-flowing football, too.
Denmark are the ugly duckling of the Euros this year. They started the competition in the worst way possible as they lost their first two games and their iconic midfielder Christian Eriksen. Something changed after this, though. The Scandinavians started winning every game they play and this led them to the 1/2-finals.
In the 1/4-finals the Red Dynamite progressed after a 2-1 win against the Czech Republic. At halftime the Danish team was already two goals ahead with goals from Thomas Delaney and Kasper Dolberg. The Czech side scored one back in the beginning of the second half, but Denmark’s defense survived until the end of the game.
That’s our preview for the Euro 2020 1/2-finals leg between England and Denmark. Once again the Three Lions will have the advantage to play at the Wembley, but the Red Dynamite is not a team that scares easily. It’s going to be a tough one for England, that’s for sure.
