Bundesliga – Eintracht Frankfurt-Mainz 05

Eintracht Frankfurt are starting to wake up. They recorded two wins in their last two games and now they are aiming to do a third consecutive one against Mainz 05 in a match from the 30th round. These two teams will meet on Saturday in Frankfurt.

Generally speaking, Eintracht Frankfurt dissapointed this season. The previous campaign they did was brilliant, but now they are outside the Top 10 of the Bundesliga, although they got close with these two wins in the last two games. Right now Eintracht are 11th in the league with 35 points, just two points behind the 10th Schalke 04.

Few days ago Adi Hutter’s team recorded its 10th win for the season. Eintracht made an excellent performance at the Weserstadion and won with 3-0. After 60 minutes of playing it was a draw, but in the last 30 minutes the visitors showed a masterclass. The Portuguese striker Andre Silva opened the score, while Stefan Ilsanker scored two times after assists from Dost and De Guzman.

At the same time Mainz 05 are still not sure about their place in the Bundesliga. They are currently 15th in the league with 28 points and their future is unclear. The only way they can help themselves is by winning points.

Mainz 05’s last win in the league came against Paderborn in February. Somehow they still manage to stay above the line, but the 16th Fortuna Dusseldorf is just one point behind. The fight for survival is still on.

Last weekend Mainz 05 lost for a 17th time this season. They tried to fight against Hoffenheim at the Opel Arena, but suffered a 0-1 defeat. Achim Beierlorzer made three substitutions on halftime, but Oztunali, Brosinski and Onisiwo didn’t manage to help.

We favour Eintracht Frankfurt against Mainz 05 on Saturday. They are the better team and they are in the better shape. We believe that’s going to be enough.
