Premier League – Aston Villa-Liverpool

Aston Villa hosts the champion Liverpool at the Villa Park in a match from the 4th round of the Premier League. The Reds are aiming to record a 4th consecutive win in the competition, but let’s see how Villa are going to answer to this.

Liverpool are the reigning champions of the Premier League and they started the season just like a true champion. Jurgen Klopp’s team won all of its three matches in the league so far. Right now Liverpool are second in the standings with 9 points, having the same amount of points as the current leader Leicester City. In their last Premier League game they hosted Arsenal and enjoyed a 3-1 win at the Anfield.

During the week Liverpool suffered some dissapointment. The Reds once again hosted Arsenal for the Carabao Cup, but got eliminated after a 0-0 draw and bad luck during the penalties. Just like we expected Jurgen Klopp gave chance to some of Liverpool’s backup players – Adrian, Neco Williams, Rhys Williams, Grujic, Wilson, Jones and Minamin. The new signing Diogo Jota also started from the first minute. These rotations should keep the team fresh for the next game.

Aston Villa started the new season surpisingly well. The club from Birmingham is currently 4th in the standings with 6 points, winning two of its three matches in the Premier League so far. If the former European champions could continue like this it would be great for the club.

In their last match in the league Aston Villa paid a visit to newcomers Fulham and scored three goals for an impressive 3-0 win at the Craven Cottage. Jack Grealish and Conor Hourihane scored in the first half while Tyrone Mings put the ball in the net for the third one.

Liverpool are favourites against Aston Villa, but it could be a tricky one for the Reds. Aston Villa are showing good football so far. It means Liverpool must bring their “A” game at the Villa Park.
